Our invited speakers for the meeting are Wenda Parata-Muir and Mandy Durham from Te Whare Pounamu
Dunedin Women’s Refuge. Wenda and Mandy will talk about aspects of their work and community involvement.
As an independent community organisation Women’s Refuge works at many levels. From their contact with
individuals and families through to involvement with local community and government agencies, they strive to help
prevent and stop domestic violence.
International Women’s Day Breakfast

If every International Women’s Day event held in 2012 includes girls in some way, then thousands of minds
will be inspired globally.
Each year around the world, International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. Thousands of events
occur not just on this day but throughout March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women.
