Workshop on Writing Submissions

The Otago Branch of the New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women (NZFGW) hosted a workshop on writing submissions on the 5th of July. The purpose of the workshop was to educate Federation members and non-Federation members to write successful submissions. Nicola Wheen from the Faculty of Law at the University of Otago was an inspiring introductory speaker who spoke on writing submissions from a constitutional perspective. In particular she addressed the role of the select committees. Caryl O’Connor from the Dunedin Community Law Centre then ran the practical part of the workshop on presenting submissions in an effective manner.

The Otago Branch of the Federation regularly organizes workshops based around professional development and education of women. As the organizers of the workshop have received such good feedback from the participants, we plan for a further workshop to be run next year.

If you are a member and live out of Dunedin we’d love to hear what you’re up to – please let us know.
